Bihar Social Audit Report

Social Audit of “Targeted Intervention Injecting Drug Users” of LEPRA India, Bihar operations project Bhgalpur was conducted on 24th November 2012 at Jila School Bhagalpur. The program was attended by Government representatives, representative from LEPRA UK, prominent NGOs of Bihar and media. The social audit was organized by Safali Yuva Kendra Bhagalpur and Human Rights Organization Bhagalpur.

               

World TB Day 2011

On the occasion of WTD we LEPRA India received a Memento and a Certificate of Appreciation for rendering RNTCP services in AP from Dr. D.L. Ravindra Reddy, Honorable Health Minister, GoAP and Ms. Srilakshmi IAS, Commissioner, Directorate of Public Health & Family Welfare, Hyderabad during WTD observance today.

Certificate of Accreditation by Credibility Alliance under the ‘Desirable Norms’ Category for a period of 5 years. (2012 – 2017).
LEPRA Society in the state of Andhra Pradesh adheres to the Desirable Norms prescribed for Good Governance of Voluntary Organisations.

Alliance Accreditation – Ensuring Quality & Accountability

Accreditation is a system by which Alliance members (Linking Organisations, Country Offices and the Secretariat) are assessed against defined standards, and by which organisations seeking to join the Alliance are assessed. This process was initiated in the year 2007 by International HIV/AIDS Alliance and till now, four existing linking organisations and five new LO s completed accreditation. For 2009, the assessment process was initiated and the candidates from India are SASO, AAA and Delhi Alliance Office.

Accreditation – what it means for organisation

  • Public indication of organisational achievement and show credibility to potential donors
  • Process allows organisation to:
    – review its systems and processes to meet international good practices
    – discuss different methods of working with peer organisations
  • Weaknesses identified are fed into the organisation’s Integrated Development Plan to further strengthen its systems and programmes
